This is the first year that Blake offers Chinese language. The program was started by Mr. Hsinyu Ho, and Mr. Ho teaches his class with traditional characters. His students learn 60 characters per quarter, for a total of 240 characters per year. This is the program’s first year and there are currently 48 students in the program. Blake will not offer an AP course next year because the program is too new.

Northwest has offered Chinese for 4 years, and currently teaches levels 1-4. Northwest will offer AP Chinese next year. This year Northwest has 35 Chinese language students. Levels 1-3 learn traditional characters, and at level four, students are introduced to simplified characters and continue to learn both styles.

Quince Orchard offers Chinese levels 1-4 and has had a Chinese Language Program for 4 years. Quince Orchard will not offer an AP level next year. This year, Quince Orchard has 43 Chinese language students of all levels. Levels 1-3 learn traditional characters, and at level four, students are introduced to simplified characters and continue to learn both styles.
